There was more tragedy in Emmerdale on Thursday night as Amy Wyatt died, days after the deaths of three other residents were confirmed. The character lost her fight for life after the devastating limo crash, with her falling through an icy lake. Amy was rushed to hospital in a bad way after was suffering from severe hypothermia.

After a seizure, Amy was being closely monitored but sadly she suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away. She'd just regained consciousness and had found the strength to tell husband Matty Barton about the body she saw in the lake. Sharing her fears it was missing Nate Robinson, she was tearful as she realised Matty did not understand what she was saying. Matty believed she was saying she was in the water and as Amy cried, she told him she loved him before suddenly taking a turn for the worse.

As she appeared to flatline the doctors raced in but were unable to save her. Amy's mother Kerry Wyatt and her son Kyle returned to her hospital room to find out she'd died, leaving them distraught. Amy's death followed the deaths of both Leyla Harding and Suzy Merton, as well as the mystery death confirmed with the body in the lake. Amy's demise marked four deaths just days apart being aired, and fans were in pieces.

Taking to social media after watching the powerful scenes, fans sobbed as they watched Amy pass away and her loved ones grieve. One viewer posted: "Why do all my favourite show characters end up dying!! oh Emmerdale what have you done today I am sobbing.".

Another agreed: "3rd day in a row sobbing at Emmerdale. Give them all the awards like now." A third viewer added: "Well, I'm absolutely sobbing," as a fourth said: "Kyle at Amy’s bedside, I am a MESS.". It comes amid fears for Chas Dingle after the crash. She was shown wincing in pain and holding her side, clearly in agony. Her pal Charity Dingle was concerned and asked her if she was okay, and Chas downplayed it all.

She told Charity she'd been checked over and given some painkillers after the twinged her back crossing the ice. But given how much pain she seemed to be in, fans are sure there is more to it. Taking to social media, fans now think a worrying storyline is on the cards for Chas following her cancer diagnosis last year. Fans believe her back pain could be linked to this, seeming to recall scenes prior to the crash where she was in pain.

One viewer posted: "Chas suffering back pain from the fall onto the ice. A few months back she was advised to have chemotherapy as a precaution following her double mastectomy operation and chose not to. I hope this is not the start of another cancer story for her.".

Another fan agreed: "Did anyone else get the impression Chas's "back pain" was going to turn out to be something far worse? I know she slipped on the ice, and "tweaking" her back is a real possibility, but I can't help thinking there will be more to it.".
