Emmerdale’s Jonny McPherson has confirmed there’s every possibility his character will be killed in the icy lake crash. This week’s episodes saw Jonny’s soap alter-ego Liam Cavanagh plan his proposal to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter). He bought multiple tickets in Suzy’s (Martelle Edinborough) raffle, convinced that the more he purchased, the higher chance he’d have with winning the grand prize – a night out in a limo.

Frustratingly, Kerry (Laura Norton) ended up the winner. Liam wasn’t going to give up though, and later bagged himself another limo. He then faced another problem when he learnt Chas was going out with Kerry and their friends. Not giving up, Liam did the same and gathered his mates together, with the males and females eventually heading off in the respective limos. Up Next. His determination to propose to Chas took a dramatic turn towards the end of the week though, as one vehicle swerved and ended up resting on an icy lake. We’ll pick up the drama this coming week and for Jonny McPherson, he’s feeling awfully worried about the male characters and more specifically – his character Liam!. ‘A twist of fate could put him in danger! I can’t wait to watch it as there are some really good performance, excellent shots. There is going to be death and danger, injuries and it’s harrowing for some of the characters. It’s absolute works.’.

James Hooton, who plays Sam Dingle, also reflected on the drama: ‘We looked so dapper as we set off in our suits in the limo for Liam’s James Bond night out. ‘But a few martinis in and with Sam sporting a rather odd shark head mask the evening quickly turned on its head. ‘Sam, a bit after most of the others in the limo, realises that Caleb has a massive axe to grind at Cain and just as they are learning what has happened then the crash happens. And then it all goes horribly wrong for some of them.’.

He added: ‘When I first read these scenes, I was really pleased to be a part of it. ‘Sam is quite often there for the light relief so when the atmosphere goes dark it’s good to have that release of someone lighter and more comedic on hand. And I think he does that well in these scenes. ‘Filming in the actual limo was quite technical as it’s not a generous space for eight actors, a camera person and sound person to squeeze into, but our director Vicky did an amazing job building that tension and getting what she needed out of these scenes.’.
