THE FBI will aid Brit cops in finding Southport fiend Axel Rudakubana’s lost internet history — in a bid to uncover his motives. Merseyside Police last month said it could “take years” to obtain the information, as the killer wiped his devices ahead of his knife rampage. The force’s Det Chief Insp Jason Pye added that the data could be crucial in revealing if Rudakubana is a terrorist — though noted that he had little sway to make US firms like Google and Microsoft release it.

But the FBI and US Justice Department have agreed to help. The Crown Prosecution Service and Merseyside Police said in a joint statement: “A specialist liaison CPS prosecutor in the United States has been working with international partners to obtain material. “We are thankful to the US Department of Justice and the FBI for their ongoing assistance.”. Police now hope to get Rudakubana’s Google Chrome and Microsoft Bing search histories within weeks.
