Many may imagine the life of high-flying stewardesses to be laden with free trips, loads of money and luxury hotel suites. However, the reality may be more grounded and realistic than some would believe. A flight attendant has revealed the surprising amount she earns per year - and broke down her salary month by month in an eye-opening video on social media. Alyssa, from the U.S., took to TikTok to share her monthly earnings after switching to an unspecified 'major' airline in the States.

Although the air stewardess admitted she 'can't buy Gucci' with her monthly wages, she assured her followers that she is content with the amount as it covers her bills and funds her regular activities - with the amount set to rise next year. In a clip posted to her account, @thebrunetteadventurer, on 9 January, Alyssa wrote in a caption: 'Jumped airlines this year and learned the grass is greener on the other side.'.

In total, the flight attendant's annual earnings amounted to around $32,736, equivalent to approximately £26,310. The differing monthly figures are likely due to most wages often being paid hourly. As reported by Flightattendant.pro, hourly rates for the four major airlines can start from $28.88 and go up to $72.80 after more than a decade of service. Although she admitted she 'can't buy Gucci' with her monthly wages, she assured her followers that she is content with the amount as it covers her bills and funds her activities.

'I can't buy Gucci, but all my bills are paid and I still have leftover for savings and fun.'. She added: 'It’s a balance and all about priorities! I don’t have kids or large financial responsibilities so I can get away with not making the most amount of money.'. It comes as another air stewardess explained in a TikTok video to her followers that asking flight attendants out while the aircraft is in the air only makes them 'uncomfortable'. She even captioned the post by saying: 'If you see a cute flight attendant and want to start a conversation: please don’t.'. Luckily, the cabin crew worker, who has spent six years working at '40,000 feet', according to her biography, also noted that there's one approved way to 'shoot your shot'.
