President Donald Trump and his ‘right-hand man’ Elon Musk sat down for an intimate interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity last night. The duo answered questions about stranded astronauts and discussed how Democrats are ‘horrible people’. Hannity, Trump and Musk sat down in the Roosevelt Room in the White House to speak to the right-wing commentator.

Musk hit back on claims that he’s orchestrating a ‘shadow presidency’ from Democrats, saying those attacking him and accusing him of being unconstitutional are unconstitutional themselves. ‘They are guilty of the crime of which they accuse us,’ he claimed.

Trump and Musk also spoke of astronauts left in space for ‘political reasons’, DEI changes and more. For months, astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams’ return has been delayed as engineers struggle to understand the return capsule’s problems.

Hannity brought up Musk’s involvement with space travel, and his ‘commitment’ to rescue both Wilmore and Williams. Musk said: ‘A the president’s request, we — or instruction, we are accelerating the return of the astronauts, which was postponed, kind of, to a ridiculous degree.’.

Trump chimed in: ‘They got left in space. Biden.’. ‘Yes, they were left up there for political reasons, which is not good,’ Musk added. ‘He was going to leave him in space.  I think he was going to leave them in space,’ Trump claimed. Up Next. “I love the president. I want to be clear about that,” Musk said. “I think that President Trump is a good man.”. “The president has been so unfairly attacked in the media – it’s really outrageous,” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO continued.

“At this point, I have spent a lot of time with the president, and not once have I seen him do something that was mean or cruel or wrong. Not once.”. Trump observed: ‘It’s so sad.  And honestly, I think they’re (Democrats) bad people.  I used to give them the benefit of the doubt, but you almost think they hate the country.  I think they hate the country.  They’re sick people.’.

Musk added: ‘The president has been so unfairly attacked in the media.  It’s truly outrageous. ‘And at this point, spent a lot of time with the president, and not once have I seen him do something that was mean or cruel or — or wrong. Not once.’.

Trump also defended his decisions on DEI, saying: ‘The whole DEI thing, that was — that was a trap.  That was a sick trap. ‘And, you know, we’ve destroyed that.  That’s gone.  That’s pretty much gone.’. Trump and Musk have been criticised for their closeness, given that Musk is unelected and incredibly intertwined with US politics.

Hannity asked: ‘They (Americans) want a divorce.  They want you two to start hating each other.  And they try saying, “Oh, President Elon Musk,” for example.  You do know that they’re doing that to you?’. Trump replied: ‘Oh, I see it all the time. They tried it, and then they stopped.  That wasn’t — they have many different things of hatred.

‘Actually, Elon called me.  He said, “You know they’re trying to drive us apart.”  I said, “Absolutely.”’. Trump also said he wanted to find someone ‘smarter than him’, and eventually ‘settled’ on Musk. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk.
