Now, he's giving away $5 million in his series for Amazon Prime Video, and 1,000 players are competing to win. The show is very consciously styled after Squid Game and Mr Beast asks some pretty tricky questions of his contenders here, opening with a test of character and requesting that they sacrifice their chance at victory for the sake of their teams.
This creates hysteria on the enormous set in a contest that delivers on tension, scale and surprise - it really is TV that has to be seen to be believed, and that's not something you can say too often. The contest will involve helicopters, a pirate ship and the chance to win a private island, plus Mr Beast has created a little city in which the contenders will all live. It does rather look like a colourful prison camp, but it's pretty remarkable all the same. (One series).
