Does gazing out at your garden leave you feeling underwhelmed?. Fortunately, one gardening expert has shared a simple four-week plan to revitalise your lawn. A dull, parched lawn can be a result of severe drought, often caused by water-repellent soil, which can persist even during wetter months, according to the Royal Horticultural Society, who warn that rectifying the soil at this stage can be challenging.

Furthermore, homeowners looking to sell their property should be aware that a patchy garden can reduce the value of a house by two percent. However, gardening expert Jack Skilling has revealed his five easy steps to transform your lawn in just a month. On TikTok, under the username @thelawnpack, the gardening guru shared before-and-after footage of a lush lawn to illustrate the dramatic difference. He explained: "We started by scarifying the lawn, this removed any excess thatch and allows the lawn to breathe.".

This process can be done with a rake or scarifying machine, scratching the grass to remove thatch. According to Gardeners World: "Aim to keep the amount of thatch in a lawn less than 1cm deep. It can look unsightly initially but if you trust the process you'll have a lush, green lawn in no time.". Jack, a lawn care expert, has shared his top tips for achieving a lush, green garden. He advises starting with a quality granular seeding fertiliser to provide essential nutrients and create a strong base for new seedlings.

Jack explained: "Step three is to apply an appropriate high quality seed mix, which in this case was all dwarf ryegrass to make sure it was resilient as it was being used quite frequently by pets and general usage.". According to Cotswold Seeds, ryegrass establishes quickly, competes effectively with weeds, and can be cut low to form a dense turf. Jack also recommends using liquid seaweed, an organic bio-stimulant that supports root development and enhances grass strength.
