The frosty relationship between F1 stars George Russell and Max Verstappen shows no signs of thawing. That's after Liam Lawson gave his own account of the tensions between the two from a recent dinner where the entire grid of drivers was in attendance. The feud was brought into the spotlight in early December when it was revealed Mercedes star Russell and his Red Bull adversary were kept separate during the meal hosted by Lewis Hamilton.

Russell, 26, made headlines with his candid remarks about Verstappen's behaviour, sharing that the four-time world champion threatened to "put his f*****g head in the wall" after a heated exchange at the Qatar Grand Prix. Verstappen, 27, shot back and said he had "lost all respect" for the Silver Arrows star, and there's no sign of a resolution in sight.

Lawson recounted an incident that unfolded away from the track when both competitors almost ended up side by side at Hamilton's soiree. But Russell put a stop to that after Verstappen got on his bad side. "It's crazy how many messages I've had about this, people are really curious," said Lawson on the Pitstop podcast (via the Express). "I'll tell you, then we can decide [what] to put in [the podcast], because this is f*****g funny.

"So we rock up, we're at this big table, me and Yuki [Tsunoda] got there together. But as the table was filling up, that side of the table was pretty much all full. Opposite me was Max, and then there was, like, three chairs to the left at this end of the table, and George hadn't arrived yet. So we were like, 'This is perfect, we're just going to save that spot right next to Max for him'.
