PATRICK REED sparked wild scenes in Adelaide after he hit a stunning hole-in-one at the party hole. The former Masters champion was participating in the first round of the LIV Golf event in the Australian city on Friday. And the American showed a touch of magic to sink an amazing hole-in-one from the sixth tee shot at the famous hole to get the tournament off to a flyer. As his ball rolled into the par-3 12th hole, he jumped around in celebration as he was showered with beer and plastic cups from jubilant spectators at Grange Golf Club.

The Fox Sports commentator was heard shouting, "goodness me," in response to the rare sight. Reed, 34, became just the second golf star to ace the Watering Hole in the four years LIV Golf has been in Adelaide. Chase Koepka hit a hole-in-one on the same hole back in 2023, which also sparked a frenzied reaction from the crowd. As many as 100,000 spectators are expected to be in attendance across the three-day event.

Reed is currently shooting at one-over par. The field is being led by Englishman Sam Horsfield, who is currently shooting six-under par after round one. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS. There is a tidy £16million purse for the competition, with the winner taking home £3.2m of that fund. Brendan Steele took the title home last year, but is currently way off the lead shooting three-over par. The Adelaide tournament will end on Sunday, with the next event being held in Hong Kong between March 7-9.
