The MOBO Awards are once again hear and ready to make history. For the first time in its 27-year history, the ceremony heads to the North East and will be live at Newcastle's Utilita Arena. It will once again be hosted by Love Island favourite Indiya Polack after her impressive debut last time out in Sheffield. . Organisers were thrilled to announce she will be joined on stage by Eddie Kadi for this year's MOBOs. Indiyah made a strong impression when she debuted last year, while comedian Eddie is familiar to millions of BBC viewers from his stint on Strictly.
But what else can fans expect from the maiden Newcastle outing - and how can they watch?. The awards ceremony is set to kick off at around 8pm after the celebrities have all arrived on the red carpet earlier in the evening. For those not going, you'll be able to watch the MOBO Awards live on the event's YouTube channel. There will also be highlights airing on BBC One later in the week. This year's performers were announced in waves. Last month the first wave revealed stars, including Krept and Konan, Spice and Bashy are set to perform on the stage in Newcastle.
Earlier this month, more names were added to the list, with 90s icon Shola Ama among those ready to thrill the 11,000 crowd. The singer, who is best known for her huge hits such as You Might Need Somebody and You're The One I Love, will be looking to put on a memorable performance. There will also be an explosive mix of genres and energy brought to the stage with further performances by Darkoo, Nova Twins, DJ AG, Pozer and LeoStayTrill.
There are two special awards being dished out tonight in Newcastle. Olympic icon Denise Lewis is set to be awarded the Paving The Way award. A statement on the MOBOs Instagram read: "A champion on the track. A trailblazer in sport. A powerhouse on our screens. We are proud to honour the phenomenal @realdeniselewis with the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award at the 2025 #MOBOAwards. "From making history in athletics to breaking barriers in broadcasting, Denise has paved the way for future generations with her talent, determination, and grace. An icon in British sport and an inspiring woman who continues to elevate the game—both on and off the track. A true force. A living legend. Denise Lewis, we salute you. Join us as we celebrate her legacy and accomplishments live from Newcastle on 18 February.".
Vybz Kartel is also set to be on UK soil for the first time in over a decade. The Jamaican icon is set to receive the MOBO Impact Award almost a year after he was released from prison following a murder charge being overturned.
