I got a tattoo tribute to my nan but it looks so naughty – people are convinced I was blindfolded because it’s that bad

GETTING a tattoo is always a bold move - it will be on your skin forever after all. But one woman has revealed how her sweet tribute to her late nan went terribly wrong in the worst way. A tattoo tribute to a lost loved one is usually a sweet way to honour their life, but for Presley, who often shares glimpses into her life on social media, the inking didn't exactly turn out how she expected. Posting on TikTok, she revealed that she decided to get a small tattoo of a dove after her grandmother died.

The small design is on the top of her arm in a simple black line style, the only problem is the outline of the dove looks a lot like something much more naughty. "After my grandma died I got a dove tattoo in her honour and it looks like a d*ck with wings," she wrote over the first image on the viral clip. Then, the tattoo hopeful showed off the finished design, leaving fellow TikTok users stunned. "I fear that's an accurate description," someone commented on the viral video.

And Presley agreed and replied: "It's not on, the first time someone asked me if it's a flying d*ck my world turned upside down.". Meanwhile, someone else commented: "Where you blindfolded during the stencilling process?". And another had the same question: "Did you not see the stencil beforehand?!". "I thought you were exaggerating, turns out you're not," someone else said. And another chimed in: "I couldn't see it at first, but now it's ALL I see.".

But others tried to comfort Presley, and even suggested some savvy ways she could fix the ink. "Maybe get some shading added to make it move dove-like," one person wrote. Another said: "Oh no! Add some detailing and you would never know.". And others urged her to see the funny side: "I hope granny had a sense of humour," one said. She's not the only person who made a big faux pas with a tattoo recently though.

A man left people in hysterics with his inking after he opted for a sweet tribute to his son to be etched on the top of his shoulder blades. 1. Think, think and think some more. Tattoos done on a whim are far more likely to lead to regret than a tattoo you thought long and hard about. Think about why you want what you've chosen. And if you still want it after a few months, then get it. 2. Age restrictions apply.

When you go to a tattoo shop the price is the price. You are paying for an artist’s time and skills, they charge what they believe those things are worth. 4. Don't get tattooed while you're hungry. Eat before you go for your tattoo session and make sure you're hydrated. You’re about to be subjected to a period of sustained physical discomfort, if you’re feeling a little weak from hunger or you’re dehydrated things will not go as smoothly as they should.

5. Don't drink alcohol before you get tattooed. If you are drunk or under the influence of drugs, don’t go for a tattoo. In fact, if your tattooist has anything at all about them they will turn you away if you are clearly under the influence of any intoxicating substances.  I’d also avoid drinking the night before, even a few drinks will thin your blood and make your bleed more. However, instead of the 'h' in the word, he'd had it replaced with a picture of a man holding his son's hand.

A video showing the etching was shared on the TikTok page of Jamaican tattoo artist Wizink. And people were quick to comment that the chosen tattoo - which the man had clearly chosen to be a cute memento of parenthood - actually looked like it said 'Fatter'. The comments came in so quick that the tattoo pro had to turn them off on the main video. But they'd all admitted they'd been left giggling by how the tattoo ended up.
