Fans were devastated after iconic rockstar Bryan Adams was forced to call off a gig hours before taking to the stage. The Summer of '69 hitmaker's fans were thought to have already been queuing for his show when the announcement was made. He was due to take to the stage in Australia on Sunday before the cancellation was required. He was set to play at Perth's RAC Arena, but "large" sewer blockage was deemed a "potential public health risk" and forced the show to be cancelled.

Perth's water authorities explained how a "large blockage of fat, grease and rags" was causing several "wastewater overflows" at properties near the venue. The Water Corporation was forced to apologised for the "inconvenience" caused in a statement. They said: "People should avoid contact with any pooled water in the area of Wellington Street, Perth, as it may be sewage following a major blockage on a sewer. Our crews are working to clear the large blockage of fat, grease and rags, which has caused several wastewater overflows at properties along Wellington Street. The Bryan Adams concert at RAC Arena was cancelled due to the risk of sewage backing up within the venue toilets, posing a potential public health risk.".

And the promoter begrudgingly said the issue wasn't able to be fixed in time, meaning cancelling was the only option. They described the news as "bitterly disappointing" as there was also no chance of a rescheduling. However, they insisted fans they would be given a full refund. The Grammy-winning singer shared his sorrow online as he took to social media to apologise to fans for the cancellation. He said: "I'm really sorry we couldn't make this happen tonight — I was so looking forward to seeing you all.".

He quickly moved on on Instagram, sharing his latest release, saying: "ICYMI ... Roll with the punches” is out now! #rollwiththepunches.". One follower couldn't help but mock the cancelled concert, saying: "Perth is feeling the punches right about now." Another added: " A huge disappointment not getting to see you in Perth Bryan. Hope you will come back."Like this story? For more of the latest showbiz news and gossip, follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
