Footage shows a man still wearing a cape sprinting out of a barbers shop midway through a haircut to help a police officer who was being punched. Kyle Whiting was in Haron Barber's on Lovely Lane in Warrington when he saw the incident involving a man and a police officer at around 11.40am on Tuesday, December 17. A video shared on social media shows Kyle, who was still wearing his barber's cape, running over to pull the man away from the officer as other witnesses gather around to help.
Moments later an officer from an unmarked police car also runs over to the struggle. The officer suffered a broken finger and sore ribs following the attack. Kyle told how he was sitting in the chair getting the back of his head shaved when he notice the barber become distracted by something in the mirror. As the barber went to the window to start recording the attack, Kyle ran outside to help.
Kyle said: "I got up from my chair, it all happened so quickly. [I'm] grateful to have helped and [I'm] glad no one else was hurt. My sister is a police officer, and if she was in this situation, I'd appreciate a good Samaritan coming in to help her if it is safe to do so. No one is paid enough to be punched in the face unless you're Conor McGregor.".
The video, shared by UK Cop Humour, was captioned: "Not all heroes wear capes... but this one does. Can we take a moment to applaud this fella, mid-haircut, dashing out to aid a copper. Not enough people like you around. Kyle was keeping an eye on what was going on outside, because his sister is a police officer. Upon seeing the single-crewed officer attacked, he dashed out mid-haircut without a thought for his own safety to assist the officer.".
