Charli XCX and The 1975's drummer, George Daniel, are set to marry in Italy later this summer. Insiders close to the couple have shared exciting details about the upcoming wedding. The couple chose Italy for its special significance to them and have booked a venue that suits their unique style of wedding, which won't be traditional. The Boom Clap hitmaker announced the news of her engagement on Instagram on Instagram in November, showing off her dazzling diamond ring.
The two met back in 2021 while working on the single Spinning, they confirmed their whirlwind romance in May last year. "Charli XCX and George Daniel f***ing for life!!!," Charli penned to her 4.5million followers. She shared three snaps, two embracing her beau and another of her new ring. Placed in between two cups, the singer-songwriter showed the piece in its box. A source told The Sun: "Charli and George both love Italy and it holds a special place in their hearts so they decided that’s where they want to get married. They’ve found a venue that they think is perfect for their unique style of wedding, which won’t exactly be traditional. The main aim is to have everyone they love come together and obviously there are plenty of people who are desperate for an invite.”.
Charli previously said: "“Neither of us are particularly formal about marriage or care about the formalities of the ceremony or whatever. We just want to be together forever and have a party with our friends. That’s what we’re aiming for wedding-wise.”. Guests will include George’s bandmates and other prominent musicians such as Troye Sivan and Robyn. Charli and George got engaged in November 2023 after starting their relationship in early 2022. When they announced the news of their engagement, fans and celebrity friends were quick to celebrate the news.

Speaking of George in May, Charli said: "Now that I’m in a relationship with another musician he's influenced me a lot with his process and how he and his band work." She told The Sun: "It's really different to how I work and that has definitely influenced me and my process. I used to be very, ‘Quick, quick, quick, album a month, let’s go.’.
"Now I’m like, ‘Oh, maybe it’s cool to take some time and live in the music that you create.’ My process is definitely evolving." She revealed how "in love" she was in February when talking to the Sydney Morning Herald. Speaking of the pair's latest track together, “Welcome to My Island (Remix),” she said: "I want to be wifed up, I want to have a big fat belly with a baby in it. I don’t really want to live in the countryside, that’s the only lie in that because I love cities.
