Actor Rami Malek has been making waves in Hollywood for all of the right reasons over the last few years as his popularity grows with each role. Born in Torrance, California to Egyptian immigrant parents, Rami always knew he wanted to be an actor as he studied theater before going on to act in plays in New York City.
His big breakthrough in the industry came when he starred in American drama television series Mr Robot, where he received critical acclaim as well as many accolades. Since then, he has firmly cemented his place in Hollywood with massive roles, working alongside huge directors and A-Listers.
Rami depicted Elliot Anderson in Mr Robot, a cybersecurity engineer and hacker with social anxiety disorder, clinical depression and dissociative identity disorder. The star's performance in the series was widely appreciated, with critics highlighting his acting as well as the story and visual representation.

After playing supporting roles in many movies including the Night at the Museum, Larry Crowne and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, Rami finally got his dues when he starred as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018. The biopic became a huge box office success, garnering $910.8 million worlwide against a budget of $53 million.
