This Morning viewers were left underwhelmed on Wednesday (February 26), with many claiming the show had lost its usual sparkle. The daytime TV staple faced a viewer backlash as disgruntled fans flocked to social media to announce they were "boycotting the show" after enduring another "boring" episode. The programme's content, which revisited topics like weight loss injections and featured a jigsaw competition, didn't sit well with the audience.
Online grumbles escalated when two professional puzzlers raced against the clock to complete a complex jigsaw puzzle, much to the disappointment of some viewers. The show also welcomed a gadget guru showcasing top cleaning products and chef Donal Skehan whipping up a simple six-ingredient banoffee pie. Despite the variety, viewers expressed their disappointment, suggesting the producers "had run out of material," while others hinted they might "give up" on the show, currently hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
On X, one user lamented: "#thismorning Not sure who is in charge of putting out this daily drivel but, ARE YOU OK," reports Wales Online. Another chimed in: "It's no wonder people are switching off, and #thismorning are no longer winning awards!". A third exasperated fan posted: "#ThisMorning F****** jigsaws! They've run out of material, haven't they.".
And a fourth complained: "If they don't stop banging on about them, weight loss jabs are going to make me give up #thismorning.". Other viewers commented: "What a disaster of a segment. All those products flopped #thismorning," and "Tomorrow we're getting in four people to watch paint dry #thismorning.".
Despite the chorus of disappointment, some fans enjoyed the show, especially when Stephen McGann from Call The Midwife came on to chat with Ben and Cat. "Stephen McGann is looking very well. God Love him," one fan expressed, while another shared: " This morning, Oh, I learnt something new today; his wife writes it #callthemidwife.".
Audiences were taken aback to discover that Stephen's wife was the creator of Call the Midwife, Heidi Thomas. The actor disclosed on the popular daytime show that his wife often becomes emotional over certain poignant storylines. He informed Cat and Ben that his imaginative wife would frequently "be in tears" after penning certain scenes, telling the hosts, "She feels the show in her heart and soul.".
