Love Island's Jack Fincham has revealed the reason behind his split from Dani Dyer back in 2019, a year after they won the ITV2 show. The reality star, 33, broke down in a new interview as he recalled hitting rock bottom last year when he attempted suicide after spending over £1 million on "drugs, booze and gambling". Jack revealed in the chat with The Sun that it was his drug addiction that led to his split with Dani Dyer, who he won Love Island with in 2018. "Drugs helped my relationship with Dani fail," he said.

"I was absent, my priorities were wrong, I wasn't a great boyfriend. I am determined to change my future.". The TV personality is now dating TOWIE's Chloe Brockett, 24, who was forced to call an ambulance last summer after fearing that Jack would attempt to end his life. After believing that he had lost his "last penny" gambling, Jack tried to throw himself over the hotel balcony during a trip away with Chloe.

"If I’d have dived at a different angle, I may not be here today. That is scary," he said. "My ankle was purple and I couldn’t walk for weeks. When I saw how Liam Payne passed away, I realised it could have been me.". Jack also spoke of how he once spent over £40,000 on gambling in a day, describing himself as an "addict". The Love Island star once dropped his partner Chloe at filming for TOWIE and then spent £7,000 during the 40 minute taxi ride home.

"Sometimes I got up to £40,000 winnings, but the next day I'd have £2,000 left and think 's***', I need to pay the rent," he said in the interview. Jack was recently sentenced to six weeks behind bars after his Cane Corso bit two people, causing injury to one person. He was ordered by the courts to pay £3,580 - including £250 in compensation to the victims.

A payment plan of £400 a month has been set up for Jack for after his release after prosecutors said that he had "no savings". This wasn't Jack's only run-in with the law, as the star was charged with driving under the influence back in 2021. While in 2023, he was given a 36-month driving ban after being caught drug driving as well as careless driving. *Frank offers confidential advice about drugs and addiction (email frank@talktofrank.com, message 82111 or call 0300 123 6600) or the NHS has information about getting help.
