Jadon Sancho has left Manchester United fans fuming after suggesting that Marcus Rashford had been set 'free' following his move to Aston Villa. Sancho, who's still under contract at United but is currently on loan at Chelsea, commented on Rashford's Instagram post following his debut for Villa, who he's joined until the end of the season. The forward came on in the second half of Sunday's 2-1 win against Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round.

It was his first appearance since December 12, having been cast aside by United manager Ruben Amorim. Despite the long spell on the sidelines, Rashford looked bright in his 30-minute cameo after which he took to social media. "Thank you for the warm welcome," Rashford wrote on Instagram. "Great team performance." In the replies, Sancho posted: "Freedom.". His commented garnered over 7,000 likes but United fans aren't happy. "This is so EMBARRASSING and UNPROFESSIONAL from Sancho," one supporter posted. "Genuinely one of the WORST footballers to ever play for us. Has the worst mentality and attitude I've ever seen.".

"Pathetic isn't it," another United fan wrote. "The audacity to say something like that on a public forum - they're both still technically paid by us.". Even a Chelsea supporter asked: "Can we return Sancho before he influences [Cole] Palmer?". Will Marcus Rashford revive his career at Aston Villa? Give us your prediction in the comments section. Rashford will be hoping to fare better with Villa than Sancho has done at Chelsea. The winger, who was also loaned out last season to ex-club Borussia Dortmund, has only provided one or goal assist in his last 11 games and started Chelsea's loss to Brighton on Saturday.

Villa boss Unai Emery, on the other hand, was pleased with how Rashford and fellow new signing Marco Asensio fared after coming off the bench against Tottenham. "Marcus Rashford and Asensio, we watched their skill and how they helped us and will help us again in the next months in the different competitions we will face," Emery said. "We are in a new way after the changes we did. We are demanding because we still need to improve due to some tactical issues and how we want to compete in the Premier League.".

Team-mate Morgan Rogers, the standout player in Villa's win, added of Rashford and Asensio's high-profile arrivals: "It pushes us along, we want to take what we can from the experienced players in the squad. It's massive to have people like that in the building and hopefully we can just push each other.".
