Kanye West troubles fans by ‘sympathising with both sides’ in Diddy assault

Kanye West is seemingly trying to profit off Diddy’s horrifying attack on Cassie Ventura. The 47-year-old rapper has shared a screenshot from an unearthed video of Diddy physically assaulting his then-girlfriend in 2016 at the InterContinental Hotel in LA. The video – published by CNN last year – showed Diddy, real name Sean Combs, kicking, dragging and throwing an object at Cassie. Alongside the photo, Kanye, who likes to be known as Ye wrote that he understands Diddy, 55, who is currently in prison awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

‘When I [sic] man truly loves a woman he may express it in rage I empathize with both sides,’ one tweet read. Under the same photo he later wrote: ‘You have to truly be in love to get to the point of risking everything.’. Ye then shared that he’s selling a hoody on his Yeezy website that is identical to the one Cassie, 38, was wearing in the assault footage. He has called it ‘the love hoody’ and it is available for £17.

X users were understandably shocked by Ye’s latest comments, calling them ‘wrong’, ’embarrassing’ and adding that he’s ‘gone too far’. ‘This is not love. This is Sean “Diddy Combs” violently assaulting his girlfriend at the time, Cassie,’ a community note reads alongside Ye’s message. After Ye shared his intention to sell the hoody, DJ Omega MVP wrote: ‘That’s evil bro.’ Many others shared that they would not be purchasing and encouraged him to feel some shame.

In previous tweets, Ye asked for Diddy to be freed from prison. He has also announced he had started a joint business venture on behalf of the hip hop mogul. Ye originally shared the partnership between Yeezy and Comb’s Sean John brand on his Instagram. He wrote: ‘YEEZY SEAN JOHN COLLAB AVAILABLE @ YEEZY.COM ME AND PUFF SPLITTING THIS 50/50 LIKE WE DISCUSSED BEFORE THEY LOCKED HIM UP. (sic)’.

He also shared a video with Comb’s son Christian ‘King’ Combs, who says: ‘It’s up.’. Sharing a screenshot of the collaboration, Diddy added: ‘Thank you to my brother @Ye YEEZY.COM.’. He later claimed ‘they’ are trying to ‘make an example out of Puff’, insisted ‘white people trying to use Puff to scare n****s’. He added: ‘I JUST FOUND OUT THAT PUFF IS NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE OR COLLECT MONEY WHILE HE’S LOCKED UP SO I’MA SEND HIS HALF OF THE MONEY TO JUSTIN.

‘WHOS EVER AFTER PUFF WE GOTTA FIND OUT EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE OK COOL PLAY OFF THE GRID. ‘MY HEART HAS NOT JUMPED NOT ONE MOMENT TODAY I GOT STEEL IN MY VEINS GOD MODE… PUFF WE LOVE YOU’. In another post, he wrote: ‘I STOOD UP FOR PUFF AND I’M STILL WINNING 20 GRAMMIES NEXT YEAR’ as well as claiming he was ‘doing’ the Super Bowl. After the video was leaked, Cassie wrote on Instagram: ‘Domestic violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.’.
