Katie Price was due back in court today as she faced another bankruptcy hearing over her huge unpaid tax bill. The former glamour model, 46, has been declared bankrupt twice and was set to face further questions over her finances at a public examination. Last year, Katie's hearing was adjourned so she could attend a “private interview” with the trustee of her bankruptcies. Today, Katie was scheduled to be quizzed at the Rolls Building in London yet did not attend.
At the peak of her career, she had an estimated fortune of £45 million thanks to her modeling career, book deals, and television appearances. However, her habit of supporting ex-partners' lavish lifestyles and legal expenses led to her first bankruptcy in 2019 over debts totalling £3.2 million. In March 2024, Katie was declared bankrupt again due to an unpaid tax bill of over £760,000. The High Court ruled that the former Page 3 model would lose half of her monthly earnings in order to pay off her debts. Four companies were listed, including the adult-only subscription site OnlyFans, as well as a photographic agency, Backgrid.
Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton said the four companies are "obligated to deduct 40 per cent of the income due to being paid to Ms Price" each month for the next three years. Now, Katie has had one of her bankruptcy's discharged and has her second bankruptcy from last year adjourned until April 8. Like this story? Katie decided to reveal her new nose just before the hearing. She underwent the surgery in Istanbul last month alongside a ‘fox eyes’ procedure and getting her ears pinned back, and was initially heavily bandaged. Katie even admitted that she redid her own nose bandages after she still felt “sore,” but “bodged” the job of dressing the wound. Although she wasn't in attendance at the hearing, Katie stepped out at the Agora Fertility Clinic in her hometown of Brighton.
The former glamour model was first declared bankrupt in November 2019. In February last year, she was ordered to pay 40% of her monthly income from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans until February 2027 to help pay off her debts. She was then declared bankrupt for a second time last March. Katie's first bankruptcy has been discharged but she must continue to pay money from OnlyFans to the trustee while the second bankruptcy remains in force.
A public examination related to the second bankruptcy was adjourned until April 8. Barrister Darragh Connell, representing the trustee of Price’s bankruptcies, said: “As to the second bankruptcy, the trustee’s position is that pursuant to information provided by Ms Price, the trustee has been undertaking inquiries with third parties. “The outcome of those inquiries is not yet known.” He continued: “It may well transpire to be the case that an application is made to suspend discharge for a limited period, but that is not before the court today.”.
Katie was previously due to attend a public examination in August last year, but this was adjourned so she could attend a “private interview” over her finances. She had been told by a judge to attend the August hearing with “no ifs, no buts”, following a warrant being issued for her arrest last July after she failed to attend an earlier court date. The court heard today that the private interview took place on September 24 and that this had provided “sufficient provision of information” to avoid the need for a public examination concerning her first bankruptcy.
As her hearing took place, Katie posted a throwback photo of herself on Instagram. She appeared to brush off the court drama as she advertised the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show. It now means Katie's first bankruptcy from 2019 has been discharged. The judge at Insolvency and Companies Court declared it be backdated to December 7 last year. Katie's second bankruptcy remains in force. In March last year, Katie was declared bankrupt over an unpaid tax bill worth more than £750,000. A public examination into that bankruptcy has been adjourned until April 8 this year.
Katie Price will have one of her two bankruptcies discharged following a hearing at a specialist bankruptcy court in London. She was due to face questions over her finances at a hearing known as a public examination after first being declared bankrupt in 2019. Bankruptcy orders typically end after a year in England and Wales, but the automatic discharge of Price’s first bankruptcy was suspended, meaning she was still bound by its terms.
