Armed police have been called to Lewisham High Street to reports of a “disturbance” after a man was seen waving a knife out of a window. Pictures were posted on social media of a man in a dressing gown brandishing the weapon on Monday. Met officers were called to the scene at 10.45am on Monday and are speaking to the man. The force are also working to find out whether anyone else is in the flat. The High Street remains closed while the police, ambulance and fire services are at the scene.

"We are speaking to a man inside an address at the location. Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether anyone else is inside the property. "Lewisham High Street section of the A20 remains closed while the incident is ongoing.".
