The logo of Meghan Markle's new brand may contain a subtle nod to her romance with Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, announced via Instagram on Tuesday that she had rebranded her lifestyle company American Riviera Orchard to As Ever, and unveiled her business' new logo: a palm tree with two hummingbirds hovering on either side of it. And it turns out, the emblem may have a very special hidden meaning, as Meghan previously spoke about how important palm trees were to her and her husband-of-almost-seven-years.

Back in 2022, Meghan told The Cut while giving a tour of their Montecito mansion that they were drawn to the home because of the two Dr. Seussian palm trees that grew right in the center of her lawn. 'One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,' she dished. 'See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, "My love, it’s us."'. Meghan revealed that their then-three-year-old son Archie would even talk to the trees like they were his parents.

She continued: 'Now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, "Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa."'. The logo of Meghan Markle's new brand may contain a subtle nod to her romance with Prince Harry. The hummingbirds in the logo may also have a connection to Harry's family, as he previously wrote in his memoir Spare that a hummingbird 'got into his house' right after his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's death in 2022. The Prince said he thought it might be a 'sign' and even pondered about resurrection. 'Soon after our return, a hummingbird got into the house. I had a devil of a time guiding it out,' recalled the 40-year-old, who is an avid bird watcher.

'A mate said: "Could be a sign, you know?" Aztecs thought [hummingbirds] reincarnated warriors. Spanish explorers called them "resurrection birds."'. Meghan's As Ever logo has already become embroiled in controversy, as officials in a small village in Mallorca, Spain, called Porreres accused her of copying its traditional coat of arms with the emblem. Both images bear a striking similarity to one another. While the town's coat of arms is splashed with colors - orange and green for the tree and sand, black for the birds, on a white background, Meghan's logo uses just dark grey and white.

Mayor Francisca Mora told local newspaper Ara Balears the likeness is 'surreal,' and that the town hall is deciding whether or not to take legal action against the Duchess. She added: 'I don't know if she visited some agritourism sites and saw the coat of arms, because the photo on her website is taken from Mallorca.'. And it turns out, the emblem may have a very special hidden meaning, as Meghan previously spoke about how important palm trees were to her and her husband-of-almost-seven-years.

She said the village now 'feels international' and hopes this will at least bring it some recognition.

'I hope many people around the world will become aware that in Mallorca there is an inland town that has this coat of arms,' Mayor Mora stated. Meghan, who is also gearing up for the release of her new Netflix show, said on Instagram that she had 'poured her heart' into the brand. '"As ever" means "as it’s always been" or some even say "in the same way as always,"' she wrote. 'If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me.

'This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish - food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday. 'I will keep sharing behind-the-scenes tidbits with you here as we ramp up to launch, and I can’t wait for you to get your hands on everything we’ve been creating.'. As Ever is set to sell jam - first trailed by Meghan and her famous friends last year - plus what looks set to be huge homeware and gardening ranges in the US.
