Netflix's Love Is Blind UK star Bobby Johnson has spilled the key bit of advice presenter Matt Willis shared with him after filming the series. Bobby met and fell for mental health nurse Jasmine in the pods and after meeting in the flesh the couple's connection soon blossomed into love. The pair said "I do" during the series finale and even shared their hopes to start a family soon during the show's reunion.
However, since their journey was shared on the Netflix series the couple have faced some difficulties with the public scrutiny over their plans to start a family – as Jasmine and Bobby exclusively revealed in an interview with the Mirror. Speaking on outsider's opinions on their romance, Jasmine told us that while they are a strong, united couple, the negativity can take its toll at times. She said: "As a couple we're very in sync, like, we spend a large amount of time together. Almost like, when you're in a relationship you almost have to be best friends before anything because how are you going to navigate life anyway.
"And we are very open in regards to communication – don't get me wrong I'm not going to say that the outside world and outside opinions haven't affected us, they absolutely have but it's about knowing the communication and who we are – knowing how much we love each other and kind of blocking out the outside noise has been quite powerful and useful in regards to our dynamic.". Bobby added: "And I think it's also something that does take a bit of time to get used to because I think in the beginning, you get a 1,000 really nice comments and messages but then just that one that's a bit on the negative side really will have a much greater impact – in the beginning, especially. And I just think it's about taking a step back and realising that at the end of the day it's not personal, these people don't know you, we know each other and everyone's going to have their opinion and I think it's about not taking things too personally. Just enjoying it, whether good or bad, just letting it be.".
Meanwhile, Bobby revealed Love Is Blind UK host Matt Willis – who presented the dating show with his wife Emma Willis – shared some advice with him about how to deal with being in a relationship in the spotlight. Sharing the key bit of advice host Matt Willis gave to him, Bobby revealed: "I spoke to Matt just after we filmed the reunion – we spoke to Matt – and that was one thing he said, 'don't pay too much attention to what people say online, whether it's good or bad.
"You know who you are, as long as you are carrying yourself in the right way, don't pay too much attention to it'. There was a lot more words than that, of course, I'm just trying to summarise it but it was really helpful at the time because that was just at the time that the show was really blowing up so it was really useful.". Matt and wife Emma have their fair share of experience when it comes to dealing with public opinions on their love – the couple tied the knot in 2008 began dating in 2005 before getting engaged in 2007 and tying the knot in 2008. They share three children – Ace, Isabelle and Trixie – together. Emma and Matt have been somewhat private about their home life over the years. But, in 2023, Matt candidly opened up about his battles with addiction in a BBC documentary Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction.
