The one-off special of Married At First Sight UK: The Reunion is about to serve up some major drama, judging from the sneak peek which hints at a mega clash between a former pair. Set to air on E4 on Monday (February 24), it promises a tumultuous meeting as the recent series' participants reunite one last time.
Lacey and Nathan, whose fizzled romance ceased post-production, are evidently at loggerheads about what went wrong. In the teaser for the forthcoming reunion episode, sparks fly as the ex-partners confront their breakup, with Lacey on the verge of tears admitting the end was mutual.
In footage exclusive to The Sun, we see Nathan confronting a visibly surprised Lacey: "So Lace, I didn't come here for a showmance," and she retaliates by stating: "Neither did I.". Nathan goes on: "That's not how I felt. The impression that I got after the experiment..." only for Lacey to rebut with "The impression?! You blocked me.".
He continues his explanation and divulges further: "Why did I block you? As soon as you finished the experiment, you turned into a completely different person.". With Lacey defending her attempts to "embrace" him, the situation escalates when Nathan presents a text message exchange they had and accuses: "You didn't say to me then 'I think we should fake it'.".
He shared that the text made him "sad", whereas Lacey expressed her feelings, mentioning she "thought" he loved her. Their spat escalated as Lacey suggested they were both at fault for their relationship woes, a stance Nathan seemed to reject, reports OK!.
Distraught, Lacey exclaimed: "There's no point saying 'you did this, you did that', we did fall in love with each other. We both added to the break-up potentially, do you not admit that? " To which Nathan sharply replied: "No! Can I just say, do you know how hard it was for me to open myself up to you.".
It has been reported that Nathan and Lacey discreetly called time on their romance a few moons after MAFS had wrapped up filming, opting to keep mum about their split while the show was broadcast on E4. Nathan once disclosed to The Sun about how Lacey put an end to their charm, suggesting they remain "be friends".
