ISRAELI military has released footage showing its "most daring" military operation ever after secret commandos raided an underground missile factory inside Syria. The mission was carried by Israeli elite forces who stromed the facility underground facility used Iran to manufacture precision missiles for Hezbollah.

Footage shows more than 100 helicopter-borne troops raiding the compound during night time in September. Soldiers from the Israeli Defence Forces were seen boarding and dismounting from helicopters and moving through what appears to be a concrete-lined tunnel and industrial site.

Other footage showed senior commanders at a control centre, apparently as the operation proceeds. Long barrels that appeared to look like missiles were also seen in the video. It is understood that Israelis destroyed the entire compound in what they claim will be a major blow to Iran.

Dubbed “Deep Layer" by the Israeli military, the missile production facility was dug into a mountain at the Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC) in the Masyaf area of Syria, west of Hama. Israeli claims the weapons factory had been used to supply missiles and rockets to Hezbollah.

Many of these missiles were launched into Israel in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks, the country's military has claimed. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said it had intelligence about the factory fro the moment Iran began constructing the site back in 2017.
