While Christmas dinner is the main meal of Christmas day - nothing will beat a pile of pancakes for breakfast. There are endless ways to make pancakes, with the options of personalising the toppings and fillings to your preference - but have you ever tried pancake art?.

One mum, named Monica Kim, has shared her simple trick of making a normal stack of pancakes have a Christmassy twist as she makes them look like Rudolph, which has been a big hit with her kids. She wrote on the Instagram post: "This is officially the most requested breakfast by my kids - well my 4yo at least. She asks about this all year long and can’t wait for me to make it. I’ll be honest, I’m not a great cook but when the holidays come around I try to make it a little bit special for them.".

The first thing Monica did was to fry the pancakes and make them into different shapes. For one Rudolph plate, you need one big oval pancake, one smaller round pancake, and two smaller oval pancakes. When it was time for plating them, she started off by putting down the oval shaped pancake as the base of the head, before putting the smaller round one on top to work as the muzzle.

She added the smaller pieces on top of the oval to work as the ears, before adding rashers of bacon behind them to make the antlers. The mum then began decorating the pancakes, which is when the festive design truly came to life. By adding two slices of banana with a blueberry on top of each, she made the eyes, before adding some squirty cream with a strawberry on top for the shining red nose.
