Woman's 'Christmas dinner' slammed as 'minging' - but all is not what it seems

A woman's Christmas dinner has been dubbed "minging" by people who did not realise their mistake. Amy Hirst from Skelmersdale, Liverpool was roasted for her festive dish but people have soon realised there is a key detail which makes it rather delicious. Amy, 27, had actually designed the meal to look this way, with her range of cupcakes and sweet treats made to look like anything from McDonald's meals to gym equipment.
Amy Bakes, the business the 27-year-old established in 2014, relies on the likeness of other food items and this Christmas dinner design has fooled many who were stunned by how how it looked. Amy has since shared how she made the dish, and why she dropped out of university to pursue her career.
She said: "I’ve always been creative. Me and my sister Andrea would make a terrible mess, baking cakes and biscuits then scooping the batter out with a spoon and eating it. But I remember decorating them was my favourite part. When I dropped out of university after two weeks when I realised it wasn’t for me I moved back home with my mum.
"I knew there must be something I could do to keep me occupied and busy. When my sister suggested I make her some baby shower cupcakes, I whipped up lashings of blue buttercream icing and layered it on top of freshly made cupcakes. Then I added letters and fondant baby décor. Everyone loved them and my family began asking me to create all sorts of weird and wonderful designs. I was thrilled to oblige.".
Amy has since shared an image of her roast dinner, but did not mention it was a cake when uploading the photo. She has since received a series of comments from Rate My Plate group members on Facebook mocking her dish. She said: “It got so much attention and everyone thought it was real. People were saying it was a really minging roast dinner.".
