Netflix will delight fans with a bumper month of releases, including two major additions and an original production. The streaming giant's library is a dynamic mix of films, series, documentaries, and stand-up comedy specials, making it challenging for even the most devoted subscribers to keep track of new arrivals or departures. However, Netflix's 'coming soon' feature provides a sneak peek into some exciting upcoming shows.

March will already be a big month with the release of Netflix's original sci-fi film Electric State from the Russo brothers and the murder mystery series The Residence. Additionally, viewers can anticipate the surprise arrival of the Halo television series and the comedy-drama show Resident Alien. As per the Netflix app, both titles are slated for a March 1 release and may offer multiple seasons for binge-watching. This is a significant win for Netflix as both titles were previously exclusive to rival platforms at an additional cost.

Halo was originally a Paramount+ original production, exclusively available on its own streaming service since its 2022 launch. Fans will be delighted by the addition of the live-action series based on the smash-hit Xbox-exclusive game Halo. It stars the indomitable super soldier, Master Chief John-117, as he and his squad of Spartans take on the extra-terrestrial menace known as the Covenant, reports Surrey Live.

With a solid Rotten Tomatoes start of 70 percent, the show's second foray did one better, soaring to an astounding 90 percent. Dedicated fans have been vocal with their kudos, lauding the monumental task of bringing such a treasured game universe to the screen. One enthusiast couldn’t hold back on social media, gushing: "The Halo show on Paramount+ is everything I could have hoped for and more. As a fan of the Halo series, I was thrilled by how they brought the universe to life. The visuals are stunning, capturing the gritty yet futuristic essence of the franchise. The action sequences are intense and cinematic, especially the battles with the Covenant, which felt ripped straight out of the games.".

Sky has brought back its viral free trial, meaning you can bag a Netflix subscription and Sky Stream for £0 for the first month, offering customers a saving of £31. This means members can enjoy binge-worthy shows like House of the Dragon, The Walking Dead and Bridgerton without paying a penny. This fan didn't stop there, extolling further virtues of the adaptation: "What really sets this adaptation apart, though, is the depth it brings to the story. Master Chief's character arc is more personal and emotional than ever, allowing us to connect with him in a way the games never fully explored. The introduction of new characters and perspectives also added layers to the lore, giving fans something fresh while staying true to the core of the Halo universe.".

Paramount has dashed hopes for a third season of the beloved series, confirming it won't continue under their banner. Fans eager for more will need to rally behind the show when it lands on Netflix, hoping its arrival will entice the streaming giant to take over the reins. In other news, Resident Alien has been a hit with critics, boasting an impressive 94 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The live-action series, adapted from a Dark Horse comic book, follows Harry, an extraterrestrial in disguise, who gets tangled in a local murder investigation on Earth. As he grapples with his mission, he contemplates the worthiness of humanity's salvation.

Alan Tudyk, celebrated for his roles in iconic sci-fi productions like Firefly and I, Robot, stars as Harry, the Alien. Tudyk will also feature in the forthcoming Superman movie and Netflix's Electric State. Although it's unclear how many seasons will drop on Netflix next month, four have been produced to date, with the initial trio previously accessible via Sky Max and NOW. Fans who've already devoured the series are buzzing with anticipation for Netflix subscribers to join in on what one viewer describes as their "Absolute favourite show to watch on repeat. It's a healthy dose of hilarious extra-terrestrial, sure but it's also very real human stories. Better together type of message, especially as it relates to family whether it's your biological family or chosen family.".

Another fan raved: "Binge worthy sci-fi comedy at its best! Writers and storytelling is awesome. Actors actually make you care about their characters. Highly recommend! " A third chimed in with: "I'm obsessed. It's a unique take on Alien visitation and it's hilarious! I can't get enough. I recommended it to everyone I know.".
