NFL fans have been left spooked by a 'creepy' tribute to the Chiefs ahead of their AFC Championship clash against the Bills. Prior to the Chiefs' 6:30pm ET kickoff against Buffalo on Sunday, a set of fountains was dyed red in downtown Kansas City. The scene was captured by Buffalo News photojournalist Joshua Bessex and posted to his X account before fans expressed how it unnerved them.

'That is unsettling,' one fan said. 'The devil magic is already starting,' another chimed in. A third wrote: 'It’s like leaving heads on spikes in medieval times, sends a message.'. The #ChiefsKingdom red fountains in downtown KC are a little… um… pic.twitter.com/3y57RBx8qm.

And a fifth fan had a slightly different interpretation. 'Another sign of the apocalypse. Bills wining the [Super Bowl],' they predicted. Despite the unsettled reactions of fans, it's not the first time that fountains in Kansas City have been dyed red. The same occurred ahead of the Chiefs' season opener this past September.
