There are many rules to navigate when it comes to sitting on an airplane - and knowing when to get up is another area to circumvent. One TikTok user, based in San Diego, California, has sparked a debate over the responsibility of the person sitting in the aisle seat on a plane, claiming they must always get up if other people in the row want to get up to use the bathroom. 'I know it's annoying [to get up] but unless you physically can't - which if that's the case I totally understand - but if you physically can, you just need to get up and go and let the person out,' the woman who posts under @deetsontheeats said in a recent video.

She then detailed a recent flight she was on, where she asked a woman sitting in the aisle seat to move so she could use the bathroom. Acknowledging it was inconvenient, she asked the woman to get out so she could get up. 'I know it's annoying and I felt bad,' she said. 'And she goes, "well, can you just scoot past me?''. 'What, in the two inches between your leg and the seat in front of you, no I can't scoot by you,' she answered incredulously.

The passenger continued, pointing out: 'Unfortunately, I'm bigger than two inches.'. One TikTok user, based in San Diego, California, has sparked a debate over the responsibility of the person sitting in the aisle seat on a plane. 'I'm not going to climb over your lap, I'm a grown woman,' she declared. Although her fellow traveler did begrudgingly stand to let her out in the end, the content creator was annoyed by the interaction.

'It's like just gotta get up guys, you just gotta get up,' she simply said, before assuring viewers that understands that not everyone is physically capable of moving. 'That was not the situation here,' she declared. 'You must simply just get up.'. The frequent flyer also added her two cents about arm rests. 'Watch those elbows,' she advised. 'We all agree the middle seat gets both the armrests, bust just the armrests - not the arms into my seat.'.

Users chimed in with their thoughts on her airplane takes. 'As an aisle seat only person, getting up as often as anyone wants to for any reason comes with the territory. You can't hold the row captive,' pointed out one user. The frequent flyer also added her two cents about arm rests (stock image). Users chimed in with their thoughts on her airplane takes. 'I must have a window seat and I hold it as long as I can but usually I have a two-hour time limit and I feel so bad asking you all to move so thank you for understanding!' gushed someone else. One person shared their tale of moving past someone that refused to get up. 'Had someone do this once,' they wrote. 'I literally sat in their lap to swing my legs through. They were not happy.'. Someone else disagreed with her armrest take.
