Primark is opening its first standalone homeware store next month. The popular fast fashion retailer will welcome customers to its first Primark Home branch in Belfast on March 6. The store measures 8,700sq ft and is located in Fountain House - just over 100 yards from the retailer’s flagship Bank Buildings store.

It will stock everything from bedding and towels, to decorative pieces and small furniture. Now it has a dedicated store for its home products, Primark will expand the kids section of its Bank Buildings store and move menswear to its own space on the top floor of the building.

Head of Primark Ireland and Northern Ireland Fintan Costello said: “This is a big moment for the Primark brand and a big moment for Belfast too as we finally announce the opening date of our first-ever standalone Primark Home store. “Primark and Belfast have a storied history and we’re incredibly proud the city will be the first in the world to experience this exciting new retail concept. In the same way our fashion collections are helping create wardrobes that look and feel great, Primark Home will offer a wider range of quality homeware and lifestyle products to help our customers create stand-out interiors.”.

It comes as Primark has continued to expand its new click and collect service to more stores, with the feature now available in over 90 branches. Click and collect lets customers order items online to then pick up in store, with around 2,500 products available through this service at Primark. The service is free to use but you need to spend a minimum of £10.

Primark has also just introducing a new line of women's and menswear across stores, which has been designed by award-winning adaptive fashion designer and disability campaigner Victoria Jenkins. The collection features 49 "affordable and stylish" wardrobe staples adapted to meet the needs of people with medical conditions or disabilities.

The collection aims to "simplify" dressing and includes things such as magnetic zippers and snap fastenings, waist loops that help to pull up trousers, and hidden openings for tube, stoma, or catheter access. There is also a range of options for seated people, such as wheelchair users.
