Primark shoppers were excited to see a movie 'legend' make an apperance in the pyjama section. The high street store is now stocking its own range of comfy-looking sets inspired by the film star. Shrek hasn't been seen on the big screen since 2010 following four films. But, kids of the 2000s were buzzing last year when the announcement came that a fifth Shrek movie is in the works with Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy all returning to voice Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey, respectively. It's set to drop in 2026 - 25 years on from the original 2001 feature.
In the meantime, Primark is helping film fans get into the swap-dwelling spirit with the £27 Character Snuddie that has appeared both in-store and online. People can choose between looking like the iconic green ogre Shrek or his loveable grey sidekick Donkey in the oversized gowns.
Online, they're described as bringing a "cosy yet whimsical" touch of fun to your at-home chill out sessions. Featuring "playful" hoods and charming details, including each character's signature ears, the addition of practical and "roomy" front pockets to have these items in high demand.
Some were highlighted by savvy shoppers and Sherk fans alike. After seeing the clothes online, plenty were sent into a frenzy and wanted to "become" their beloved childhood character. One shopper said: "These are awesome!" Another added: "How cute are these!" Lots were tagging friends planning a shopping trip and who would be which character.
