Queen Maxima of the Netherlands looked striking this afternoon as she stepped out in a bold black-and-white ensemble in Rotterdam. The Dutch royal, 53, looked elegantly chic as she arrived at the post-Covid Expertise Center of the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam on Tuesday. The Queen oozed sophistication in a sequin emblazoned black jumper and crisp white palazzo trousers. Arriving at the medical centre in south Holland, Maxima beamed enthusiastically and took the time to speak to the Dutch media, who were stood outside.

The mother-of-three radiated elegance in the ensemble - expertly complimenting the monochrome look with a stylish pair of black boots. Maxima's jumper, which featured several floral sequin patterns across the body, kept her snug against the chill February air as she arrived at the treatment facility. The wife of King Willem-Alexander wore her honey blonde tresses straight and down around her shoulders in a laidback style.

She opted for a typically glamorous makeup look, combining a dark smoky eye with a soft flawless base and a swish of rose pink lipstick. Arriving at the Rotterdam centre, Maxima was also seen carrying a trendy clutch bag. The Queen arrived at the clinic on Tuesday where she had the opportunity to chat with patients who were suffering the after effects of long Covid. Long Covid refers to symptoms of the virus that last longer than three months after the initial infection. The Queen listened sympathetically as she heard the tales of those suffering from the illness.

In the Netherlands, between 300,000 and 500,000 adults have the illness with around 100,000 of those living with symptoms so severe that their day-to-day living is impaired. After being shown round the Erasmus MC's Post-Covid Center of Expertise, the royal took part in a roundtable discussion. The Queen was all smiles as she was pictures sharing a joke with some of the staff at the treatment facility.

Arriving at the Rotterdam centre, Maxima was also seen carrying a trendy clutch bag. It comes just a week after the Dutch royal was seen stepping out on a visit to a Food Rescue Centre in Diemen. Maxima was pictured travelling to catering wholesaler, InstockMarket, who are attempting to fight back against food waste. The company offers chefs the chance to buy excess food and by-products to help increase sustainability.

Despite the grey and rainy weather in the town, Maxima stepped out in a strikingly chic all-brown ensemble. She donned a chic tan trench coat which she paired with an elegant knitted sand-coloured roll neck dress with a belted waist which showed off her toned frame. Maxima paired this sophisticated look with her nude leather Gianvito Rossi Laura 85 knee boots and sported large chocolate brown dangly earrings.

The Queen completed her ensemble with her Marina Raphael June bag in Champagne Woven Napa. She wore her blonde tresses down in a sleek straight blow-dry and went for a smoky makeup look, consisting of dark eyeshadow and pink lipstick. The Queen oozed confidence as she stepped out of her car and greeted staff of the food centre with a grin on her face. InstockMarket urges those who work in kitchens to keep their 'food footprint' low and says that all perishable goods that come to their centre go through quality control.

The corporation claims it has saved more than 3.5million kilograms of food waste so far, adding that it is working with around 200 suppliers to help minimise this. It states: 'Waste occurs due to an incorrect size, incorrectly labelled packaging, cancelled orders or simply surpluses.'. To learn further about how leftovers can be reused and utilised, Maxima put on her protective gear and entered the warehouse.
