A RAGING mum launched a savage hammer attack on a love rival who her boyfriend had an affair with while she was pregnant. Kirsty Allen flew into a rage after rumbling the affair that she grabbed a hammer and burst into a pub hell-bent on revenge. The 31-year-old smashed the weapon into her rival's face while screaming: "I'll do you in...I will kill you.". Scorned Allen then swung the hammer two more times as her cousin desperately tried to restrain her.

Other pub-goers - including families - fled in terror while others rushed over to remove Allen from the premises. The mum-of-two has now been jailed for 18 months pleading guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm, affray and possession of an offensive weapon. Hull Crown Court heard Allen, who has a baby daughter and a young son, has convictions for 11 previous offences. The horror unfolded on April 5 at the Fiveways Hotel in Hull after Allen discovered her boyfriend's deceit while she'd been pregnant.

She stormed over to the victim, who had her back to Allen, and hit her on the side of the face - leaving her screaming out in pain. The woman was taken to hospital with swelling, a depressed fracture to her cheekbone and a 1cm cut. In a victim impact statement, she said she has been severely affected by the "completely out of the blue attack". The woman added: "I have no idea what instigated this behaviour or caused her to get so angry.".

She also told how she has trouble sleeping and is now scared to be alone. The victim continued: "I am scared to be alone outside the house in general. I fear repercussions for me and my family. I am resorting back to nervous habits of mine. "I am normally chatty and outgoing but now I am constantly subdued. I worry about the emotional distress I am causing my family and friends. My social anxiety is back.

"Mentally, I feel in a very low place. I never thought I would be the victim of such a vicious assault.". Chaynee Hodgetts, mitigating, said the row erupted after Allen found out boyfriend cheated on her with the other woman while she was pregnant with her daughter, who was now aged 15 months. She said Allen is "ashamed" of her actions and accepts it was a "stupid thing to do". The lawyer added: "It was a household item rather than a weapon. She is remorseful for what she has done and does very much wish to draw a line under it.
