REFORM’S “war on Net Zero” will bring energy bills down for millions of households, the party has claimed. Deputy leader Richard Tice said a proposed windfall tax on the renewable industry could make families £350 a year better off. Plans also include to reverse the inheritance tax raid on farmers - except for those who use land for solar panels. Party deputy Tice issued a new set of policies if they enter government saying the green drive was “the greatest act of self-harm”.

He laid down the gauntlet to Energy Secretary Ed Miliband who vowed to bring down energy prices by £300 before the election. Mr Tice said: “They’ve given up saying whether the bills will come down, because they won’t under Net Zero, they will go up relentlessly in April this year. “The energy suppliers are currently forecasting a further increase from January of over 5% that’ll be 16% increase from July last year.

“Their bills are not coming down. If we do what we say, we recover, give or take, £10 billion a year. That’s about three to £350 per household per year.”. Tice said the drive for Net Zero was to blame for the industrialisation of Britain. Plans also include new legislation to ensure National Grid take down all new pylons and put them underground.
