Just before a wealth of new Space Marine 2 players jump into the game following the Christmas period, developer Saber Interactive is prepping for another update. Those with a thirst for purging on the Emperor’s behalf might run into some disconnects with the Space Marine 2 servers later today. It’s all in aid of said servers being set to undergo a period of scheduled maintenance, presumably before a new patch arrives or just to ensure they are able to hold before receiving an influx of new players. Now, while it’s not ideal that Space Marine 2 players won’t be able to play together online on the eve before Christmas, the good news is that the maintenance isn’t expected to last for very long. Hooray!.
The upcoming Space Marine 2 server downtime comes in the wake of the monumental update that launched earlier this month, which introduced the new Obelisk Operation that now allows players to take part in a new mission occurring in parallel to the base game’s climax. There’s nothing to suggest – either from developer Saber Interactive or publisher Focus Entertainment – that something quite as substantial will soon follow in the wake of today’s scheduled server maintenance, but it’s still something worth being aware of for those who can only get their Tyranid slaughtering done alongside friends.
Unfortunately, the upcoming Space Marine 2 server maintenance that is scheduled will affect all platforms, meaning that it’ll be worth those on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC taking a short breather. If you absolutely cannot be without your Heavy Bolt Rifle or Power Sword during the time the server maintenance will last, you can always check out the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 episode as part of the new Secret Level anthology series on Prime Video – skins related to it can still be unlocked by watching the relevant Twitch stream.
