The first update of 2025 is almost here for Space Marine 2 and Focus Entertainment is delivering on the first drop of content teased in the roadmap. Space Marine 2 update 6.0 drops this week, after Focus Entertainment got our hopes up at the end of last month for some surprise server maintenance we thought may have been the patch ushering in Season 3 and the new content. The publisher hasn't been great with communicating with its playerbase, often dropping updates with no notice, with the arrival of update 3.0 and October's update 4.0 being prime examples of this.
However, this time around, the publisher has given players a heads up about Space Marine 2 update 6.0, sharing both the date and release time, which is a first. It hasn't said anything about downtime or server maintenance just yet though, so we'll be watching the game's socials to keep you posted. As for what's in Space Marine 2 update 6.0, Focus Entertainment gave us a sneak peek in the 2025 roadmap, as well as elaborating in a January community update on its blog. The Battle Barge is getting an extension with the Datavault; a new area that lets you unlock info about the game in the Research Centre as well as awarding cosmetics, all of which can be unlocked with a new currency called Ordeals.
A new PvP map, a Necron Tomb, is on the way, focusing on closed quarters combat, while a new PvE enemy, the Biovore, is coming to all maps featuring Tyranids and is a problem at both close and long range, so look forward to that. Of course, there's the new Salamanders Champion and MK 6 'Corvus' helmet for those looking for new cosmetics, and on that note, we're finally getting the option to share skins between PvE and PvP, as well as sharing patterns.
We're likely to get full patch notes once Space Marine 2 update 6.0 goes live, but in the meantime, here's everything confirmed in the update from the community blog post as well as early patch notes. The Space Marine 2 update 6.0 release time is 6am PST / 9am EST / 2pm GMT / 3pm CET on Thursday, February 6 as confirmed in a post on the game's Discord server. We don't have confirmation as to whether the game's servers will go offline to roll out Space Marine 2 update 6.0, but it's a pretty sizeable update so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a period of downtime beforehand.
Available for the Sniper class, with both skins for your Champion and for your Bolt Sniper Rifle: adorn that green paint, those flames and go dominate the battlefield. The Raven Guard are joining the fight! New cosmetics will soon be available with the season pass including the fan-favorite: beaky helmet (MK 6 'Corvus') and Raven Guard trinkets. The MK 6 'Corvus' helmet comes both with and without the Raven Guard emblem, allowing you to customize your Space Marine for your convenience.
The Datavault makes its entry to the Battle Barge. In this new area, you will find unlockable information on most elements from the game in the Research Centre, as well as cosmetic rewards. To unlock them, you will need a new special currency, earned via in-game achievements (called Ordeals), in all modes (Campaign, PvE and PvP). Time to challenge yourself!. Those achievements will be listed beside the unlockable info. Here’s the kind of Ordeals you’ll have to complete to unlock the currency:.
In a past Community Update, we mentioned that we were not completely satisfied with the quality of perks. We’ve reworked some of them, and these enhancements will be introduced in the next update release. More changes will come on the perks in the future, and we hope this first change on the perks feel more satisfying and engaging. We’re all ears, so don’t hesitate to share your feedback!. You expressed how eager you were to get a FOV Slider since the launch. While implementing it has been technically challenging, we’ve finally managed to produce a slider worthy of our standards, introduced in version 6.0, for 21/9, 16/9, and 32/9M screens.
