FINDING the one can be tricky - but could horoscopes hold the secret to love?. This is the premise of a new YouTube show which uses star signs to help singletons find their perfect match. Cosmic Coupling is a speed dating show made by Cosmic Fusion on YouTube. It's a dating show like no other which matches people based on their zodiac sign. In each episode, a player is matched with five potentially compatible contestants.

The player then puts their astrological compatibility to the test using a series of games to complete a speed dating experiment. In episode one, viewers meet 23-year-old Saskia who is a Cancerian looking for love. The comedic narrator describes her as: "The definition of Yin-Yang. "With a mix of Cancer's nurturing vibe mixed with the metal snake's savvy and ruthless edge.". When asked what she's looking for, Saskia had no preference for a particular star sign: "To be honest I've dated many star signs so there's not something I go for in particular.

"Attraction for me is based on personality", she declared. Open-minded Saskia was then cleverly matched with five potential love interests that had been chosen using Chinese and Western zodiac data. Fitting with the Chinese elements, each game was centred around fire, water, air, earth, metal, and wood. Saskia's first date tested adaptability and passion for the element of wood. Her five potential love matches were tasked with drawing a picture of themselves, alongside her riding a horse into the sunset, to illustrate if they possessed the qualities of wood in Chinese astrology.

Saskia decided to eliminate a candidate named Lemar based on his drawing in this round, despite the Cosmic Fusion app predicting a 92% compatibility match for the pair. Each round of games continued to follow each Chinese element until finally they landed on the metal element, which tested the intentions and confidence of the final two potential matches. In this final round, Saskia was allowed to phone a friend who would advise her on who would be the better match after a FaceTime conversation with the last two finalists.

Taking her friend's advice, Saskia chose Luis, a 27-year-old Sagittarius, who she only discovered in the end was ranked as just a 50% match. The co-founders of Cosmic Fusion strongly believe that our zodiac signs not only shape our character, but our relationships too. As well as launching the new game show, Cosmic Coupling, Cosmic Fusion also operates an astrology app which has provided them with new astrological insights into compatibility.

Co-founder Michelle Bell said: "At Cosmic Fusion, with our system of over 1,000 different personality signs, we see astrology as a great way to understand people’s personalities and how they connect with others. "Through our app and user base, we’ve found that people really resonate with their zodiac signs, which shows just how much these traits shape their relationships.". Despite Saskia choosing Luis over someone with a higher compatibility percentage, it doesn't necessarily mean to say that zodiac pairing doesn't work.

Luis and Saskia still had a 50% chance of being a compatible match and as they didn't go on another date, it's clear the pair decided not to explore their chances. When it comes to love and zodiac compatibility, astrologers look at a number of points in your chart. Generally speaking, it can be as simple as comparing astrological elements such as fire, earth, air, and water, and seeing which element compliments the traits of your star sign.

Although the stars might align for two people, we have to remember it doesn't always guarantee that they'll be attracted to each other. Meanwhile, zodiac matching has become such a thing that dating app Bumble has added a feature for users to include their sign in their profiles. And other successful dating apps like NUiT have been designed to centre around astrology alone. The makers of the Cosmic Fusion use their app to generate over 1,000,000 compatibility matches using Western and Chinese astrology.

The co-founder describes how zodiac compatibility is not a one size fits all matchmaking process. She explains: "There isn't just one perfect match for each star sign —there's a whole spectrum from 0-100% for everyone. "That’s why it’s not as simple as saying, “Aries matches best with Libra” or “Leo and Sagittarius are a great pair.". "It’s not about strict rules or fixed outcomes — astrology simply helps us understand different character dynamics, making it a fun and insightful way to explore compatibility.".

"Instead, our app combines your sun sign, Chinese element, and Chinese zodiac animal to create a unique personality profile. "From there, you can test your compatibility percentage with anyone, giving you a deeper understanding of how well you might connect with different people. "On the show, we bring this to life by matching people based on these deeper layers of astrology.".
