Sunday Brunch presenter Tim Lovejoy was left red-faced and swiftly apologised after guest Billy Porter swore on the show's live broadcast on Sunday (Sunday, February 9). The mishap occurred while American actor and singer Billy Porter engaged in light-hearted banter about which roundtable guest had a past as a sofa salesman. Attempting to fib that he sold sofas himself, things escalated when Simon Rimmer said he didn't believe Billy, prompting a flustered Billy to exclaim: "Oh s***".

The slip-up was met with shock and awkward grins from the guests, leading Tim Lovejoy to intervene, expressing: "Apologies for any bad language that anybody heard there.". The Express reports viewers at home didn't miss the swearing on live TV, with many sharing on social media. A viewer took to X, commenting: "Looking amazing and cursing like a trooper on live TV. Billy Porter is a star! #SundayBrunch.".

Another quipped: "It's ok no one is offended....as no one is watching! #sundaybrunch." while another queried: "Anyone else notice Billy swearing?". Billy Porter had joined Marisha Wallace on the Channel 4 show as they promoted their new roles in Cabaret! on the West End. The pair take on the roles of the Emcee and Sally Bowles respectively at the Kit Kat Club for a limited season. With little time to dwell, James May soon joined hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer to discuss his reasons behind the conclusion of The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime Video.

James May, alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, were once the faces of BBC's iconic motoring programme Top Gear, before they departed in 2015. They subsequently breathed life into The Grand Tour for Prime Video, which has since come to its finale. Tim couldn't help but ask about the reason behind The Grand Tour's coming to an end, to which James bluntly said: "I just couldn't stand them". Everyone burst out laughing as James continued: "I've said this many times. We always said, between us, that we would end it with some race, hopefully, rather than fly into the White Cliffs of Dover, desperately trying to keep it along and I think we just about managed that.".

"We'd exhausted the subject, we are getting on a bit. I believe it's time for a new generation to find a new take - I don't know what it is.". Simon asked: "Did it feel it was the right time to end it? " James replied: "Yes, I think so. You can't overstay your welcome. You're supposed to leave the audience wanting more. It's the rule of show business.". Sunday Brunch airs from 10am on Channel 4. Get the biggest TV headlines, recaps and insider knowledge straight to your inbox.
