Chaos erupted on Sunday Brunch as guest Joe Lycett swiped the show's Christmas tree after host Tim Lovejoy jokingly agreed to sell it to him for £4.50. As the December 15th episode drew to a close, Joe got up from his seat, lifted the tree, and casually strolled off stage, leaving the hosts and other guests stunned. "He's broken the show again!" exclaimed co-host Simon Rimmer.

Joe shouted "Merry Christmas!" as he disappeared behind the scenes, tree in hand. However, the comedian encountered difficulties as he tried to dismantle the tree and disconnect its lights. Producers eventually intervened, informing him that the tree wasn't for sale, and Joe sheepishly returned to the stage, empty-handed.

Joe's antics had already caused a stir earlier in the show when he kicked off his interview promoting his new book, Art Hole, by lounging on the sofa with his shoes off, drawing comparisons to Jacob Rees-Mogg from the hosts. He also snuck in a quick jab at the Tory politician, prompting Tim to remind him that he was "on the wrong channel", reports the Express.

Joe, a Sunday Brunch regular despite his mischief, kept the hosts on their toes throughout the episode. Joe couldn't resist ribbing the presenters earlier in the show about their new feature, Simon's Rimcaps, showcasing 2024's top recipes. "Can I just check, it's called Rimcap?" he quipped, drawing snickers from fellow guests. "And everyone's OK with that?".
