From a restoked rivalry between the President and world's biggest pop star, to protesters storming the field, Super Bowl LIX certainly gave us a night to remember. Millions tuned in to watch the NFL season grand finale, in which the Philadelphia Eagles swooped to victory in a game which saw them dominate the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite the Chiefs having the backing of arguably the two biggest names in the audience, last year's champions fell far short of claiming an unprecedented "three-peat" with a lacklustre performance and humbling score of 40-14.

Among those in the audience were Donald Trump - the first sitting President to attend the event - and Taylor Swift, who was there to cheer on boyfriend and Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The two however received very mixed reactions from the crowds. And while the half-time saw an epic performance from Kendrick Lamar, the show was nearly stopped by a protestor running on pitch. Tributes were paid by the likes of Lady Gaga's pre-match performance to victims of New Year's Day's Bourbon Street attack in host city New Orleans, in which 14 people were killed.

But not everyone stayed out right until the bitted end of the game. As he stoked an old rivalry with Taylor, Trump made a swift exit from the Caesar's Superdome as his chosen team trailed far behind. Here's a run-down of everything you need to know about the Eagles' big night. Her regular appearance at Chiefs games since she began dating Travis Kelce is somewhat of a divisive subject among NFL fans. But the Fortnight hitmaker's attendance at Sunday's big event didn't seem to brush well with many.

As the stadium's big screen turned to the megastar, who appeared alongside friends the Haim sisters and rapper Ice Spice, boos emanated from the crowds. The cold reception however didn't appear to faze the singer, who could be seen side-eyeing her pals and retorting, "what's going on?". Fans were quick to rally round the singer, branding the jeers "loser behaviour". One person commented: one commented: "I don't care who wins or loses today, my biggest hope is that everyone has fun and Taylor Swift ruins the day of men who hate her.".

It's Taylor's second Super Bowl rooting for last year's champions the Chiefs. For last year's big event, the 35-year-old flew across the world fresh off an Eras Tour date in Tokyo to see partner Kelce bag the Chiefs' monumental victory. This year however was a far more subdued event for the couple, as Kelce looked close to tears trailing back into the locker rooms after the game. Those wondering if they'd see a big proposal were also sorely disappointed.

Another big appearance at Sunday's game was Trump, who became the first sitting President to attend the Superbowl. As to be expected, the President did not avoid courting controversy. The 78-year-old didn't hang around, leaving the game early after showing up to cheers with daughter Ivanka and son Eric. Trump had previously backed the Chiefs to win, and took to FOX News to praise quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany - a known supporter.

"She is a Trump fan and a MAGA fan, I happen to love her, she's a great person." In clips played ahed of the game, he also toldto the outlet: "I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he's won – I have to go with Kansas City. At the same time, Philadelphia is fantastic, it's going to be just a great game.". Of course, the mixed receptions for Trump and Swift did not escape the President, who simply could not resist the opportunity to take a swipe at the All Too Well singer - a vocal critic of his. Taking to Truth Social after the game, he posted: "The only one that had [sic] a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!".

Rapper Kendrick Lamar stormed the stage during the Superbowl LIX halftime with a history-making show which delighted fans. The Not Like Us rapper left the question hanging over whether he would perform the diss track aimed at industry rival Drake. And the 37-year-old didn't disappoint. Cheers from the crowd could be heard as Kendrick teased the track and swiped at Drake's lawsuit against his record label – before going on to perform the song.

The performance however was thrown into chaos by a protestor storming onto the field. The protester was seen waving a Palestine flag as he disrupted the Super Bowl LIX halftime show performance. The man stormed the field during the break as millions watched rapper Lamar perform 'TV Off' at Caesars Superdrome in New Orleans. He was seen holding a two-part flag representing Palestine and Sudan. Security staff quickly pursued him onto the field, apprehended him and promptly escorted him off the stage following the incident, which was not aired to ITV or Sky Sports viewers in the UK. The flag read: "Sudan" and "Gaza" and was completed with a black heart.
