WAITROSE - Glazed Crown, 2kg, £60, £30 per kg. Serves 6: Stunning centrepiece. A juicy, crown with herby chestnut stuffing and bacon was one of the tastiest we tried. 4/5.
TESCO - Easy Carve 2.87kg, £40, £13.94 per kg. Serves 12: Entertaining a big group? This ready stuffed, partially deboned turkey promises stress-free cooking. 4/5. LIDL - Broadland, 5kg, £45, £9 per kg. Serves 8-10: This slow-growing bird is a snip but loses points on quality. The meat was a tad dry and flavourless. 3/5.

CO-OP - Medium Whole, 4.75kg, £35, £7.37 per kg. Serves 8: At just over £7 per kg, this turkey is superb value. At this price, you can afford to splash out on extra trimmings. 4/5.
