Trump reveals he ‘spoke to Putin about ending Ukraine war’ and claims Russian tyrant ‘wants to see people stop dying’

PRESIDENT Donald Trump has revealed he's spoken to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin about ending the bloody war in Ukraine. The Republican revealed mad Vlad's willingness to end the conflict, explaining that he wants to "see people stop dying". Trump and Putin's bizarre friendship has taken a new turn, with the Republican leader revealing the pair have had key conversations in stopping the illegal war in Ukraine.

Don revealed that he "better not say" how many times he's spoken with his pal, but he believes Putin "does care" about the gargantuan number of casualties on the battlefield. January was the second bloodiest month for Russia since the start of the war nearly three years ago. There have been more than 837,000 Russian casualties since the invasion. Speaking to New York Post, he said: "All those dead people. Young, young, beautiful people.

"They’re like your kids, two million of them – and for no reason.". And a claim that Trump has made numerous before, he asserted that the horrific war "never would have happened" if he had been president in 2022. He added that he and the Russian dictator "had always had a good relationship". Slamming his predecessor Joe Biden, he called the Democrat bumbler "an embarrassment to our nation - a complete embarrassment".

Trump revealed he has a concrete plan in place to end the war - and hopes its ending is "fast". He said: "Every day people are dying. This war is so bad in Ukraine. I want to end this damn thing.". While addressing National Security Advisor Mike Waltz who was aboard the Air Force One with him during the interview, the president added: "Let’s get these meetings going. They want to meet. "Every day people are dying. Young handsome soldiers are being killed. Young men, like my sons. On both sides. All over the battlefield.".

Vice President JD Vance is set to meet Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Munich Security Conference next week. Trump has said he wants an eye-watering $500 million deal with Zelensky to acquire rare-earth minerals and gas in Ukraine in exchange for security guarantees in a potential peace settlement. Trump and Zelensky have had a notoriously frosty relationship due to the Republican's friendship with Putin.

Discussing Iran, Trump explained he "would like a deal done with Iran on non-nuclear". He said: "I would prefer that to bombing the hell out of it. "They don’t want to die. Nobody wants to die. "If we made the deal, Israel wouldn’t bomb them.". But the president looks to keep his cards close to his chest as he refused to reveal details of any potential negotiations. Trump added: "In a way, I don’t like telling you what I’m going to tell [Iran]. You know, it’s not nice.

"I could tell what I have to tell them, and I hope they decide that they’re not going to do what they’re currently thinking of doing. And I think they’ll really be happy.". Trump is set to reveal his long-awaited peace plan to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine. His proposal to end the three-year-old conflict is set to be announced at the Munich Security Conference next week. But a "leaked" copy of the alleged plan has details that could be difficult for Ukrainian president Volodmyr Zelensky and European leaders to accept.

Newsweek reports the alleged plan would see Vladimir Putin stopped in his tracks and Russia's steadily advancing front line frozen in an Easter ceasefire. European soldiers, including Brits, could then be used to guarantee Russia doesn't invade again by policing a demilitarised zone. Crucially for Trump, this would not include American soldiers. In return, Ukraine would be barred from joining Nato and it would have to declare neutrality.

Decorated war veteran Keith Kellogg, 80, is hoping to finally stop Vladimir Putin in his tracks with help from the new President after Don's stark threats to Russia in recent days. The military man served his country for 36 years before going into politics and is now expected to advise the peace negotiations in 2025.

Kellogg has been a key figure alongside Trump for almost a decade after he was appointed as a chief of staff on the Republican's highly sensitive National Security role during his first term in office. Former White House national-security adviser under Trump, John Bolton, even said he once overheard Don say he likes Kellogg because he “never offers his opinion unless I ask for it". Russia is also yet to express any interest in engaging with the 80-year-old by himself.
