Concerns that the new Disney Plus series wouldn’t live up to expectations have been well and truly shut down, with fans branding it ‘perfection’ and hailing: ‘We’re back.’. Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as blind-lawyer-come-crime-fighter Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil), while the new clip has also revealed the returns of several fan-favourite characters including Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) and Punisher (Jon Bernthal).

It opens with new Mayor of New York City Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) telling Murdock: ‘It’s not entirely unpleasant seeing you again,’ before viewers hear how Murdock has ‘come up in the world’. ‘I can’t shake the feeling you’re gaming the system,’ Murdock continues in the tense diner conversation, before explaining he stepped back from his superhero role because ‘A line was crossed’.

The trailer then promises some brutal action scenes, Murdock returning to save Hell’s Kitchen, and peace ‘being broken’ with ‘chaos reigning’. ‘I was raised to believe in grace but I was also raised to believe in retribution,’ Murdock vows, as the final moments of the trailer see him return to his iconic Daredevil suit.
