Derek Chisora has tipped former two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to come out of retirement and take on British rival Anthony Joshua. Last month, the 'Gypsy King' stunned the boxing world after announcing his retirement from the sport following his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk back in December. "Hi everybody, I'm going to make this short and sweet," he said to the camera. "I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing. It's been a blast, I've loved every single minute of it. I'm going to end with this. Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, see you on the other side. Get up!".

Since then, the boxing community have been left torn as to whether or not the Brit has actually called it a day. Chisora, a former foe of Fury, believes the 36-year-old will make yet another return to the ring to take on 'AJ.' His comments came after 'Del Boy' sensationally toppled Otto Wallin in his penultimate fight on Saturday night. After the heavyweight dust-up, Chisora identified three opponents for his 50th and final outing in the ring. The 41-year-old pleaded with the fans with regards to who they think he should fight next. The three names included Daniel Dubois, Usyk and Joshua. Both 'Del Boy' and 'AJ' have always been on good terms having boxed for the same amateur club, Finchley ABC.

Speaking after Saturday night's win in Manchester, Chisora said: "I need something big. I think I've earned something big." The Brit is doubtful that a showdown with Joshua will happen as he expects the former world champion to take on Fury next. "Who knows? Right now AJ is healing himself after the defeat from Daniel Dubois," 'Del Boy continued. "He's not ready yet. When he's ready he'll come back and I think he'll come back - not to fight me but to fight the 'Gypsy King'. I'll let the public decide [who next]. I'll let you guys decide." A reporter then asked the heavyweight star if a showdown with Francis Ngannou appealed to him, but the boxing veteran was quick to shut that down, saying: "I don't think Francis Ngannou will come back to boxing after the AJ loss," he said. "I want to fight a fighter." He then joked: "I might fight Jake Paul, who knows?".

He concluded: "I think I'm getting old. It was very emotional for me. When I arrived I said to myself before I left my hotel, 'I'm not going to cry'. It was very emotional for me and very sad because I love this game so much. So I just started crying. I was crying like a kid.". Last month, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn revealed should Fury decide to come back and take on Joshua, he must reverse his decision in the next few weeks. He told the Daily Mail: “None of us know what Fury will do next, but if we are to see the fight in the summer, he would probably have to come out of retirement in the next three or four weeks. After that, the summer gets difficult for a fight of this size. The future? Hopefully [...] I think he will be back, but it's in his hands.”.
