Walkers has teased the return of one of its most beloved flavours, which was discontinued two years ago. The crisp giant has caused mass excitement on social media this week after hinting that its popular Worcester Sauce flavour could be making a return. The rumour mill began when Walkers X - formerly Twitter - account started replying to old posts from fans who were mourning the loss of the flavour.
In 2023, one user wrote: “You made a grave error dropping Worcester Sauce and I hope this hits your profits HARD.” But, just this week the Walkers account replied saying: "keep your eyes peeled on your DM’s". Another 2023 post read: "Sad to see the demise of Walkers’ Worcester sauce flavour. One of the all time greats of the crisps world." This week the snack giant replied with a purple love heart alongside an eye emoji. The user then asked Walkers whether it was making a return, and again in response, the chain said: "Make sure you're following us and keep your eyes peeled on your DM’s.".
One fan who couldn't believe the news said: “They better not be playing with my heart like this, I lost a piece of my soul when they stopped production of those bad boys.” Another shared: "I’ve seen some tweets with @walkers_crisps possibly teasing the comeback of Worcester sauce crisps and they better not be playing with my heart like this, I lost a piece of my soul when they stopped production of those bad boys.".
Another said: “My son would be one happy boy if these do return! Please say it is true.” A third shared: "Huge grab bags of Worcester sauce would be the greatest news ever!! A variety pack of tomato ketchup, Worcester sauce and pickled onion is what the people are wanting!!".
It must be noted that Walkers has yet to confirm the return of Worcester Sauce. The British public loved the tangy and salty snack, and the news of its axing came as a shock, and many were distraught. Ever since fans have called on the company to bring them back. In a post to social media, one said: "What the hell @walkers_crisps Worcester Sauce was the best flavour crisps that you did! You need to bring them back asap!!!!".
While second person posted: "Every week for the last 8 months I’ve been looking on Tesco website for Worcester Sauce Crisps pack of 6 but they were always out of stock, now I know why. They are my favourite Crisps and I will miss eating them straight from the bag and in sandwiches R.I.P Worcester Sauce R.I.P." A third person added: "@walkers_crisps right enough is enough...Worcester sauce....bring them back PLEASE.".
