A friend group in Italy decided to jokingly get temporary tattoos as part of a night out together, only to wake up the next morning to realise they won't come off. In recent years, companies have found ways to make normal temporary tattoos - the ones you get on by dabbing it with some water - to last a lot longer than just a day. But not everyone seem to have realised just how long lasting the can be.
In December, one friendship group were shocked when they realised that the semi-permanent tattoos they'd joking got as part of a fun night together ended up not coming off the next morning. "Our faces when we discovered that the 'temporary' tattoos done the night before won't come off until January 2025," one woman revealed in the video. "We're in our 30," she explained in the caption of the video. What followed was a clip of the group all looking for their tattoos on Amazon, deciding on what prints they'd want for their temporary tattoos, which later came back to haunt them.
The TikTok creator, with the username onemicirci, then shared photo of each person's tattoos and where they chose to place them, and it got progressively worse at it went on. The first person, a woman, showed off her tattoo of an animal head that was placed in the middle of her chest. Next up was a man who decided to get barbed wired on his neck as well as a small crescent moon on his face- much more visible than his female friend.
While the next person's tattoo wasn't too bad - an eight on his wrist - another woman had a sad-looking smile on her face as she posed to show off her panda tattoo on her face, just under her right eye. The next woman also had an easily hideable one as she'd gotten a Buddhist and Hindi symbol, an unalome, on her chest. However, the sixth person had gone for the on/off symbol on her face, while the next guy went all out with a small tattoo on each of his fingers.
Other choices included a gun on the back of someone's neck, which showed how the tattoos would not go away no mater how much they seem to have scrubbed the area. A second photo showed the same person with the skin bright red but the gun having only slightly faded in some areas. Another guy faced the same outcome after getting a triangle in the middle of his forehead and a dolphin with sunglasses on his cheek. Another woman also went for a sea creature on her cheek, but went one step further with a big shark covering parts of her cheekbone and cheeks at the same time.
In the comments, people shared their own experiences with longer lasting temporary tattoos, with one person writing: "Ummm, my 16yr old daughter was JELLY ROLL for Halloween and used this!! She couldn’t go to school for days!". "My friends temp tattoo is still fully visible 4 years later," a second person shared. One person asked: "I need to know what product you used because to me this is GREAT advertising," to which the video creator replied: "my friend bought it on amazon, the brand is colofalla!".
