League phase top eight (seeded). Arsenal, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, Leverkusen, Lille, Liverpool. Knockout phase play-off winners (unseeded). Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Club Brugge, Feyenoord, Paris Saint-Gernain, PSV, Real Madrid.

The first legs are on 4/5 March and the second on 11/12 March. Given the change to the format this season and the seeded pairings, teams already have an idea of who they could play in the last 16. Here’s what the Premier League clubs potentially have in their Champions League futures.

The Gunners finished third in the Champions League group stage, with six wins, one draw and just one defeat in their eight games. In the last 16 Mikel Arteta’s men will take on PSV or Feyenoord. Liverpool lost their last group stage game but it made no difference as they finished top of the group stage having won their first seven matches.

Up next for Arne Slot’s side will be one of Paris Saint-Germain or Benfica. Aston Villa’s win over Celtic on the final day of the group stage saw them grab the eighth and final spot to see them straight into the last 16. It was a superb achievement from Unai Emery’s men and they will be rewarded with a game against Borussia Dortmund or Club Brugge.

Dortmund beat Sporting 3-0 in their play-off first leg on Tuesday, while Atalanta play away to Club Brugge on Wednesday night.
