This year, the action shifts to New Orleans, which will be hosting the event for an impressive 11th time in NFL history. The Caesars Superdome, set to host its eighth championship game – the most of any NFL stadium – will serve as the backdrop for Super Bowl LIX.
Sadly for local supporters, the New Orleans Saints won't be taking part; instead, it will be NFC champions Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs who go in search of an unprecedented three-peat. Much like the New England Patriots with Tom Brady at the helm, the Chiefs have clinched back-to-back championships with Patrick Mahomes leading the charge. No team has ever secured three consecutive titles in the Super Bowl era, and the Eagles now stands between Andy Reid's squad and history.
The Super Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 6.30pm local time, meaning that those in the UK will need to tune in from around 11.30pm. And with an extended half-time show, the action could go on until around 4am...a late one!. The showpiece in New Orleans will be on free-to-air television for UK viewers with ITV holding the rights.
