The One Show fans would have noticed there has been a huge gap in the BBC’s schedules since before Christmas. The magazine show usually airs on weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and is presented by the likes of Alex Jones, Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne. However, it has not been on air since Friday, December 20 as it has been on a break over the festive period and New Year.

The broadcaster has instead treated us to special Christmas shows including the last-ever episode of Gavin and Stacey and the return of Outnumbered. But The One Show fans fear not, as the hit chat show is only just days away and will return to our screens at its regular time and place on Monday.

Before Christmas, Alex, 47, signed off the final The One Show of 2024 shortly before a performance from Tom Grennan. She said: ‘Well that’s it. It’s almost time for Tom’s performance. ‘But we just wanted to say thank you so much to tonight’s guests and thank you to all our guests and contributors who have taken part in the show this year. Also thanks to everybody who works so hard behind the scenes to put this show together.

‘But the biggest thanks of course goes to you for watching. And we will see you on the 6th of January next year.’. During the final 2024 episode of The One Show, Alex and Lauren spoke to Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke, and comedians Chris McCausland and Lee Mack.
